THEODORE AUGUSTINOS, ESQ.
Ted Augustinos is a Partner in the Hartford office of Edwards, Angell, Palmer, Dodge LLP (EAP&D), a firm of more than 600 lawyers with ten offices in the United States and London. EAP&D provides legal services to many banking institutions, insurance companies, and insurance holding companies throughout the United States and internationally on a wide variety of transactions, regulatory compliance and corporate matters. The firm also has significant internationally recognized practices in the areas of private equity and venture capital, intellectual property, and litigation.
Ted has guided financial institutions of all sizes through the negotiation, structuring and execution of mergers and acquisitions. Ted has also represented banks in holding company reorganizations and assisted them with USA PATRIOT Act and Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act issues; assisted insurance companies in obtaining licenses in all U.S. jurisdictions; represented insurance agents and brokers in organizations, licensing and acquisitions; advised financial institutions regarding the development of products and services in compliance with banking, insurance and other laws; and advised Boards of Directors and executive officers on their corporate responsibilities, including shareholder matters and corporate restructurings.
Ted is co-author of Bank Insurance Sales Methods: Requirements, Restrictions and Guidelines, a treatise for planning and executing successful bank insurance sales programs, including discussion of the licensing, disclosure, compensation and other issues related to sales of insurance products by and through banks on a state by state basis throughout the United States. He frequently publishes articles on current issues affecting the insurance and banking industries, and has been a featured speaker at international, national and regional conferences sponsored by trade associations in the banking and insurance industries.
Ted, who received his B.A. at St. Lawrence University and J.D. at Boston University School of Law, has served as an adjunct faculty member of The University of Connecticut School of Law.
Ted is a member of the Boards of Directors of South Park Inn, a shelter for the homeless, The Connecticut Forum, a non-profit organization serving the State of Connecticut through four issue-focused programs per season on political, social, educational and cultural topics, and Insuring Pride Foundation, which promotes financial literacy in low and moderate-income neighborhoods.

DENNIS J. RUSCONI, CPA
Dennis Rusconi is President of The Rusconi Company, an investment banking and financial advisory firm located in Hartford, Connecticut. The Rusconi Company specializes in mid-market acquisitions and dispositions, business valuations, capital financing for growth, merger and acquisition activity, and litigation support services. Over the past 20 years, Mr. Rusconi has been involved in over 100 acquisitions and sales of businesses.
Prior to founding the Rusconi Company in 1985, Dennis established and managed a general securities brokerage firm in Hartford (Rusconi Securities, Inc.), and was a founder and managing partner of Rusconi, Cahill & Larkin, P.C., a certified public accounting firm with offices in Hartford, New Haven, and New York City. Dennis also worked for 20 years with a large international CPA firm, where as a partner, he was responsible for the small business division of the Hartford office.
Dennis, who received his BS in accounting from the University of Connecticut, has served as a member of many Boards of Directors over the years, and is active in the Catholic Church, having worked with the St. Francis Foundation, an affiliate of St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, as well as chairman of the Finance Committee of St. Timothy’s Roman Catholic Church.
Dennis has also been an active Board-level participant in the Connecticut chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accounts.
FRANK SABATINI, FSA, MAAA, CERA
Frank Sabatini is an independent consultant to the insurance industry. He established this practice upon his retirement from Ernst & Young in 2007, and currently provides consultancy expertise in the areas of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), hedge program development, economic capital, and expert witness assistance.
From 1991 to 2007, Frank was a Principal in the Insurance and Actuarial Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young in the Hartford, CT office. In this capacity, he was responsible for directing the development, planning and execution of risk management assignments, hedge program development, implementation and peer review of economic capital, capital management and related capital markets engagements for the practice.
Prior to his years at E&Y, Frank held positions as Vice President and CFO of Connecticut Mutual’s pension operations, where he was responsible for pension product financial management, product development and pricing (1982-1991), and as Assistant Vice President of Equitable’s Group Pension division (1974-1982), where he had oversight over financial management, product management and development for Guaranteed Investment Contracts (GICs), IPGs, Single Premium Group Annuities and other group funding vehicles.
Frank has been an active member of the Society of Actuaries. He is currently on the Board of Directors and has served as the Chairman of the Risk Management Section Council. Frank was also a member of the Society’s Investment Section Council, ERM Symposium Committee, and Finance Practice Professional Development Committee, and was Investment Actuary Symposium co-chair (2001-2002).
Frank is a frequent speaker at industry meetings and has penned a host of publications related to risk management and insurance.
Frank, who earned his BS in mathematics from the Pratt Institute, holds the following professional designations: Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), Member American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), and Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA).

DAVID A. SCHUPP
David Schupp has been an analyst of the insurance industry for over 40 years, as well as an active entrepreneur in the greater Hartford region.
Dave spent 18 years (1970-1988) as a general partner of Conning & Co., a NYSE insurance research boutique, where he was active as a consultant, portfolio manager, analyst and salesman. He was responsible for marketing the firm's Information Services for both the property-casualty and life insurance industries and at various times served as Financial Partner, Operations Partner, and Compliance Partner.
In 1988 Dave co-founded The Townsend & Schupp Company. T&S developed a national presence as a life insurance industry knowledge source, providing credit rating, consulting, and investment banking services for the life insurance industry. T&S was sold to a British publicly traded company in 1997.
In 2000 Dave formed Schupp & Grochmal, LLC with Joseph Grochmal, a fellow insurance analyst and investment banker. Schupp & Grochmal manage two funds under the Connecticut Insurance Reinvestment Act seeking to provide capital to insurance businesses in Connecticut. Investors receive State of Connecticut tax credits.
Besides his engagement with T&S and Schupp & Grochmal, over the years Dave helped in founding the following firms: Trenwick Group, Executive Risk, Fox-Pitt, Kelton, Inc., Industrial Health Care Company (workers' compensation managed care), Hettrick & Cyr (workers' compensation loss prevention and fraud investigation services), Ringco Group (medical claim cost recoveries), and MeadowBrook Center, Inc. (long-term health care provider).
Dave is a past President of the Connecticut Investment Bankers Association and has also served as an officer and director of numerous insurance industry investments.
Dave holds a B.S. in Business from The University of Hartford and is presently a board member of the Barney School of Business and Regent of the University. Dave is also a board member and past President of the Granby Land Trust and Granby Education Foundation.
